We have all been to the movies right? Well, I went to one recently and as I am checking out the snack, drink prices, choices, I finally get to my choices , the popcorn person comes up and asks what I would like so, I proceed to tell them. She asks if I want butter on my popcorn she asked do you want light butter, regular butter, or extra butter or extra , extra butter I am like, “please just through some butter on it and call it good it is not that hard, it shouldn’t be a multiple choice sat test or something it is just popcorn.” So she put the butter on there and I proceeded to my seat and then, got to thinking about…
The 5 things I am sick of seeing in movies: 1st, Movies being made out of TV shows. OK yes there was one TV show that made it in the movies and it was Star Trek. But how all the other shows should have stayed just that, they were fine for a half hour to an hour but not 2, or 3 hours ,and that is even if you stay with what the people can relate to, and the main story line, and not changing it so that buy the time you have a movie it ends up being nothing like the show and not worth putting on film .
The 2nd thing I can’t stand to see in movies. Is the putting a movie out that has no real story. It just tries to wow you with special effects, and in doing so they think if the they are cool enough you will forget that you just paid for a movie that has no story, and no real entertainment value what so ever other than visual stimulation, they just get to show off what they can do with a lot of money, time, and no imagination for story. Then there’s putting a movie out to make money off the actor/actress’s name. I mean you can see that they had a script they were not sure of how well it would sell so they grabbed a well known name that they knew would generate money.
The 3rd thing that isn’t cool in movies is making movies out of video games. I mean for real Mario brothers no real story line and street fighter the games are cool but nothing a movie should be made out of. And WTF was with Double Dragon? People that make these movies think that just because the games sold well, then the movies should do just as well they obviously didn’t think that through, and really look at the so called story lines, and in a lot of cases it is kind of hard to see certain actors/actress’s in roles that are not right for them or just bad acting and a sorry script.
The 4th thing is Remakes. I mean seriously it seems Hollywood has not had an original idea since the late 70’s, to the early eighties and lets take A nightmare on elm st movie. I am a huge fan of the originals but the new one come on I have seen better cartoons it was just a big copy paste type of deal with a twist on it. And it was not at all in Freddy’s favor, and if you look at remakes in the last few years the may do well at the box office due to curiosity but however the desire to watch it over and over is just not there like it was in the originals and that’s the way most remakes are it is not about getting a good movie out just as long as, they just get one out to make money now no matter if it does ruin the integrity of the series and I don’t mean just the elm street series it is just about any remake lately.

Hopefully, nobody sues us.
Another case in point, Pocahontas and Avatar, same basic story but in space and more special effects, which brings us back to the whole using special effects to make you forget where the story line actually came from and then dragging it out so you don’t realize it. They have made dozens of remakes out of Disney movies or the stories they’re based of and people just don’t realize it. I never thought about it either till it was brought to my attention, and I reflected on it for awhile and realized that it was true. Now as far as other remake lets take Starsky and Hutch it may have been an alright TV show but the movie was not good at all it had bigger explosions and more car chases, but really bad acting and not really much of a story line so again back to does not have to be good as long as it brings money. Which sucks for the people that actually like to see a good movie with a real story line, But they do this cheap remake stuff just to make a quick short term profit.
The 5th thing that is so dumb in movies is just new horror movies in general that in a lot of them sometimes the blood does not even look real it looks like colored water, and if that’s the case you might as well be using kool aid. And the other thing is what is with this shooting movies in the dark? You can’t see anything like, Quarantine there was no real scary parts and nothing to see you just heard a bunch of yelling, and screaming and, the only real thing you saw was someone getting dragged away. Same thing with Blair witch project, stuff like that should be seen I mean if you pay 8 dollars to see this you should have a little light to see what they’re doing and screaming about. It would be one thing if it was audio humor where you did not need light to see it. But a movie, or documentary, you need light to see what they are doing. I mean, if you can get it produced and in the theater than you can afford the little bit of light you need for people to see what you need them to see.
So in the end I would just like to say that if we’re expected to pay, 8 to 36 dollars for just tickets and then another 30 dollars in snack prices then we should get more than just special effects, and bad lighting, and bad acting, and nothing but bad remakes with cheap fillers that have no real meaning, or attention keepers. So the next time you see a movie really watch it and see if the story has been done right, or if you see anything I have mentioned was in it, and could the movie have been worth what you paid.
[God, everyone here rags on Avatar. -9]

I totally agree with the 5th point, i need to see the scary things for them to be scary. I actually liked cloverfield because in the end it let this happen, instead of everything being fudged by a shaky camera
